Today's Challenges...

With rising energy costs and increased demand, finding alternative energy solutions for the future should be at the top of the world's "To Do List." It's not just about finding alternatives; it's also about conserving and preserving the environment. On March 19, 2009 President Obama stated a new strategy for Energy and the Environment. The focus of this strategy takes into consideration the "big picture" when addressing the current challenges that we all face as producers or consumers of energy. The President plans to work with Congress to...

Welcome to the PowerRoots Website

PowerRoots provides automation tools to support a variety of key disciplines that are typically managed by Transmission Providers. These automation tools include the OA-Central Enterprise (OACE) product line, which supports multiple applications, and data interfaces related to business operations for the power transmission industry. OACE leverages state-of-the-art technologies to better afford Providers with the benefits resulting from practical application of proven technology advancements.

Open Access and deregulation has brought about significant challenges for Providers of transmission services. With the increasing demand for these services along with the growing competition in the marketplace, the need for managed and efficient control of real-time power operations becomes increasingly critical for Providers. Our expertise is centered around technology infrastructures that support business and operational systems, as well as providing technical services to large bulk Transmission Providers. As such, the ability to streamline processes and/or automate system operations has become part of our strengths that are further leveraged to better support the OACE environment and our client's needs.

PowerRoots - Renewable Energy for a Better World!

The PowerRoots team has been actively engaged in U.S. Power Industry initiatives for more than ten years. With the introduction of a number of Open Access initiatives to support deregulation of the wholesale power markets, our team has continued to stay abreast of the corresponding requirements and standards that were changing the Power Industry landscape.

Our team has been directly involved with many power initiatives over the years including; the designs, development and implementation of one of the first successful OASIS Nodes for the Department of Energy. Our passion has been focused on solving technology challenges related to Power Operations for wholesale Transmission Providers. As such, our understanding and expertise to streamline processes and/or automate system operations have become our strengths, which have been leveraged over the years to better support our client's needs and competitive edge.

One of our primary concerns has been, and continues to be, reliability of the power system. As the Power Industry continues to change to better support a Smart World, competition continues to increase, and the need for managed and secure control of real-time Power Operations becomes increasingly critical for Transmission Providers.

PowerRoots Today:

Today, our focus is on the Smart Grid initiative, providing technical assistance to Transmission Providers in support of advancing that initiative for the U.S. Power Industry. Today, PowerRoots is actively involved in defining enterprise application and data frameworks to effectively support advancing Smart Grid interoperability standards and requirements. Our involvement with the Open Architecture Computing Enterprise (OACE) environment provides us with the technical infrastructure to help address the implementation challenges facing technology vendors of Smart Grid applications.
